Wyatt Flores at Extra Innings, Day 1

By on March 6, 2025

Picture this: the desert sun is sinking, the crowd’s buzzing with spring training fever, and the stage lights flare up as Wyatt Flores, Oklahoma’s rising Americana star, steps into the spotlight at 4:40 PM. With his soulful drawl and road-weathered charm, he turned that dusty patch of Arizona into a honky-tonk haven for an hour.

Wyatt kicked things off with “Losing Sleep,” his breakout hit that’s been tearing up hearts and charts alike. His voice, raw and earnest, pulled the crowd in like a tractor beam, and the fiddle wailed as folks swayed, already hooked. Next up was “Please Don’t Go,” another fan-favorite banger—a pleading, foot-stomping anthem that had everyone singing along, their voices echoing off the cacti. The energy spiked with “Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight,” a newer track dripping with longing, its twangy guitars and driving beat making it impossible not to move.

He kept the momentum rolling with “Holes,” a gritty, introspective cut that showcased his knack for storytelling—think dust-covered dreams and barstool confessions. Then came “West of Tulsa,” a rollicking ode to his roots that had the crowd two-stepping in the sand, his band’s tight interplay shining through. He closed with “Oh Susanna,” his viral Stephen Colbert-approved cover, reimagined with a haunting edge that left us all stunned and cheering as he tipped his hat and walked off.
