Drew Baldridge Brings Heartfelt Country Storytelling to Extra Innings Festival

By on March 11, 2026

Under the bright Arizona sun on February 27, Drew Baldridge took the Home Plate stage at 2:45 p.m. and quietly showed why his brand of country music continues to connect so strongly with listeners. His signature sound—earnest, story-driven songs rooted in small-town values, family, faith, and quiet resilience—feels especially welcome in today’s scene, where polished productions often overshadow personal connection. Baldridge’s performance had an easy, lived-in quality that turned a festival afternoon slot into something that felt more like a conversation with an old friend.

The setting was a perfect match. Extra Innings Festival, now in its third year, serves as the country-and-roots companion to the larger Innings Festival, which has drawn crowds to Tempe Beach Park since 2018. Launched in 2024, the event pairs live music with spring-training energy, local food vendors, and lakefront views, creating a relaxed space where artists can share their craft with fans who appreciate music that feels genuine.

From a Small Illinois Town to Independent Success

Born and raised in Patoka, Illinois—a farming community of fewer than 600 people—Baldridge moved to Nashville at age 18 to pursue music full time. He has been active since 2013, first releasing music through Cold River Records before charting with early singles like “Dance With Ya.”

A substantial shift came in the past few years that some fans may not realize: after Cold River closed its doors around 2019, Baldridge founded his own independent label, Lyric Ridge, in 2020. That move allowed him to control his creative path and led directly to his breakthrough. In 2024 he signed with BBR Music Group’s Stoney Creek imprint, but his independent chapter remains central to his story.

Drew Baldridge performs as a solo artist backed by his touring band. The core of the performance is:

  • Drew Baldridge – lead vocals, guitar

His biggest hit, “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” became the first independently released single by an artist to reach No. 1 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart. The RIAA Gold-certified ballad has generated more than 1.1 billion streams and impressions. Other signature tracks include the follow-up Top 10 hit “Tough People,” along with recent songs such as “Deserve Her,” “Rebel,” and “Call Me If You Get One.” Baldridge has been named MusicRow’s Independent Artist of the Year, a CRS New Faces honoree, and an iHeartCountry On the Verge artist. He has also built a loyal following through an extended backyard tour that took him to hundreds of fans’ homes across the country.

The verified setlist from February 27, 2026, at Tempe Beach Park ran as follows:

  • Tough People

Baldridge mixed originals with a respectful nod to Toby Keith and kept the energy steady, sharing brief stories from his independent journey between songs.

Why His Live Shows Stay With You

Baldridge’s afternoon set offered a clear window into why his music travels so well from radio to the stage. He moves comfortably between upbeat crowd pleasers and more reflective moments, always keeping the focus on the songs themselves. For music lovers who seek out country that feels rooted in real life rather than trends, his performances provide exactly that kind of honest, unforced connection. The next time he appears at a festival or venue near you, it’s the sort of slot that quietly becomes one of the day’s highlights—no fanfare required, just solid songs delivered with care.
